Guests often praise the beachfront location, lush tropical gardens, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere with local touches.
Food & drink
MixedFood is passable Cuban all-inclusive fare: adequate variety at the buffet with fresh tropical fruit, but shortages, repetition, and hygiene complaints surface often. Set expectations to Cuba standards, not international resort quality.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Ripe tropical fruit daily (papaya, guava, pineapple)
- Cuban à la carte restaurant with pianist is a highlight
- Real-time buffet cooks food to order
- Lobby bar coffee earns repeat praise
Heads up
- Buffet runs out of dishes at dinner
- Wine and rum shortages reported
- Cleanliness complaints including pests near food
Dining overview
All-inclusive includes buffet and at least one a la carte seasonal barbecue; multiple bars and coffee bar; restaurant offerings include local cuisine and buffet rotations.

Beach
StandoutThe beach is the standout reason to book: wide, soft, powder-fine sand fronting the turquoise water Varadero is famous for. Even critical reviews concede the beach is beautiful.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Wide stretch of fine white sand
- Turquoise, clean, swimmable water
- Chairs generally available
- Beach volleyball and animation on sand
Heads up
- Beach bar is a walk and runs out of beer
Detailed beach reporting coming soon.
Pools
StrongA single decent-sized pool that stays uncrowded because most guests migrate to the beach. Animation, volleyball, and poolside music keep it lively enough without being chaotic.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Rarely crowded
- Pool volleyball and daytime animation
- Convenient to buffet and rooms
- Quiet enough for reading
Heads up
- Water can feel cool in winter
- Some find the pool on the small side
Detailed pool reporting coming soon.
Rooms & suites
270 roomsHotel has mix of suites and junior suites in low-rise villas and a three-story building; rooms include separate living area, balconies, minibars, satellite TV, tea/coffee service, AC, safe; decor is dated and no full ocean views.
Room details here are AI-assisted, compiled from the resort's own website and public sources. Categories and names change often — confirm the exact room when you book.
What’s included
StrongPriced as a Cuban 4-star and delivers roughly that: beach and staff punch above the price, while rooms and food land at or below it. Solid value if you arrive with realistic expectations, painful if you don't.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Cheap for a beachfront Varadero week
- Warm, personal service
- Beach quality far exceeds the price point
- Repeat guests returning 20+ times
Heads up
- Property is visibly dated and needs renovation
- Occasional room and infrastructure failures
- Shortages of drinks and food items
Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.
Amenities & activities
Couples
Good fitA quiet, adults-only Varadero pick where anniversaries and romantic weekends get warm, personal touches like cakes, cider, and special-restaurant reservations. The dated rooms keep it from feeling luxurious, but the atmosphere is genuinely romantic.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Adults-only (16+) calm atmosphere
- Staff go out of their way for anniversaries and birthdays
- Sea-view rooms and gardens
- Beach and pool feel intimate, not crowded
Heads up
- Rooms are dated and occasionally have maintenance issues
- Not a luxury romance product; expect Cuban 4-star
Families
Not a fitOfficially adults-only at 16+, so young children are not permitted. Multi-generational adult family trips work well, but this is not a kids resort.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Peaceful setting suits adult family gatherings
- Staff celebrate family milestones warmly
- Tennis, billiards, and pool activities for teens/adults
Heads up
- No guests under 16
- No kids club or children's programming
- Maintenance issues make it a poor fit for families with mobility needs
Peace & Quiet
StandoutOne of the calmer options on Varadero's strip, drawing loyal repeat guests who want to read, swim, and unwind. Evening animation adds gentle energy without turning into a party.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Consistently described as peaceful and relaxing
- Loyal returning clientele, some 20+ years
- Low-key daytime vibe on beach and by pool
- Evening shows wind down at a reasonable hour
Heads up
- Music by the pool can get louder in the evening
Resort offers spa services, gym, disco/nightclub, game room, conference rooms, bicycle rental, exchange, TV room, room service, sports courts and massage services.
Water sports included
- non-motorized water sports
- tennis
- basketball

“I can confirm all the 1-star reviews. Anyone giving more stars here is quite frankly a fake.”
★☆☆☆☆
“My experience was great, but only because of the company. The hotel is comfortable, but there's not much to do. The pool bars were practically empty. We ate bread with powdered cheese that wasn't even toasted (in fact, the powder fell all over us 😆). The drinks were powdered soda. The food wasn't good. The beach was spectacular, and the pool was very large and clean. The rooms were good, but I was unlucky enough to have an air conditioner in mine that was about to break. The hot water was...”
