Beach
StrongThere's no beach on property, but complimentary access to Doctor's Cave Beach sits directly across the street, with staff helping you cross safely. Water is calm and clear; loungers and umbrellas cost extra.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Free access to Doctor's Cave Beach
- Crystal-clear, calm swim conditions
- Staff escort guests across the road
- Balcony views of the beach from many rooms
Heads up
- Must cross a busy road to reach sand
- Loungers and umbrellas around $21 USD per day
- No beach service from the resort
Resort sits directly across the street from Doctor’s Cave Beach; guests get free access but beach chairs and umbrellas across the street are rented and not included.
Pools
MixedThe pool is small, more of a dipping spot than a swim scene, with limited loungers and occasional cleanliness lapses. Fine for a quick cool-off, not a destination in itself.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Rarely crowded
- Adequate for a quick swim
- Table tennis and pool table nearby
Heads up
- Very small with only around six loungers
- Water reported cloudy at times
- Empty cups left uncollected
- No pool activities or features
Single outdoor pool with adjacent bar, billiards, karaoke, and hot tub onsite; pool area atmosphere is casual and social.

What’s included
StrongPriced as a modest three-star, and the experience matches: friendly service, authentic food, prime Hip Strip location, but dated rooms and basic facilities. A strong value for culture-forward travelers, a letdown for anyone expecting a true resort.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Affordable rate for the Hip Strip location
- Suites are large and comfortable
- Authentic Jamaica without hostel-level risk
- Attentive staff throughout
Heads up
- Rooms feel dated and worn
- Weak AC and tired bedding in some rooms
- Gym is minimal and in poor repair
- Not a resort despite the name
Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.
Amenities & activities
Couples
Good fitA surprisingly sweet pick for honeymoons and anniversaries if you want cultural flavor over polished luxury, with warm staff who remember your drink and turn evenings into a party. Just know the vibe is homey and lively, not romantic-resort polished.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Warm, personal service on special occasions
- Lively entertainment with Loretta
- Balcony rooms with beach views
- Reggae atmosphere and Hip Strip nightlife steps away
Heads up
- Dated rooms lack romantic polish
- Street noise can intrude on quieter moments
Families
Good fitFamilies consistently feel at home here, with staff who engage kids and a compact layout that's easy to manage. The tradeoff is a small pool, a busy road to cross for the beach, and no dedicated kids infrastructure.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Staff engage and entertain children
- Spacious rooms with two double beds available
- Safe, personal atmosphere for solo parents
- Assisted road crossing to Doctor's Cave Beach
Heads up
- Small pool with no water features
- Busy main road separates resort from beach
- No true kids club or dedicated activities
Peace & Quiet
MixedThe courtyard and upper floors can feel peaceful, but this is a small hotel on Montego Bay's Hip Strip: traffic, honks, and sirens are the soundtrack. Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday party nights ramp things up further.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Courtyard is a calm reading spot
- Upper-floor rooms are quieter
- Laid-back daytime vibe
Heads up
- Constant traffic and horn noise from the strip
- First-floor rooms are very loud
- Party nights get loud
All‑inclusive includes meals, drinks, organized activities, nightly entertainment, fitness centre, pool, spa, hot tub, kids entertainment. Free Wi‑Fi and parking included.

“This is like my maybe six time coming to Deja. This trip was very difficult. While I was staying at Deja Resort, my mother passed away. And the staff. Especially Loretta found a prayer group, who happened to be on vacation at Deja, pray with me as I watched my mom pass away on video. The staff were very supportive to me. As always the food was amazing!!!! The owner, Mr. Russell adopted me, since I no longer have parent's. I recommend this resort over and over again. Thanks again for...”

“In a nutshell: fantastic value for money. GREAT location, staff, and service, and we will be back. - After checking out at 12 pm, the hotel stored our luggage and let us keep our wristbands until 5pm, meaning we were able to chill by the pool, have lunch and get a couple of drinks, which was fantastic. - The service was great!! Everyone was lovely, especially Omar, Miss Walker, Andre, and Devon. Omar took it upon himself to find us a room to have a quick shower before our very late flight....”

Know before you book
- Rooms and décor feel dated
- Inconsistent Wi‑Fi and cold showers reported
- Pool bar and communal areas sometimes understaffed
- Must cross a busy road to reach sand
What you should know
What to Know
This is a compact hotel on a noisy urban strip, not a resort in the traditional sense, and calibrating expectations is essential. The beach is across a busy road, the pool is tiny, and the charm lives in the staff and cultural feel.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Starbucks and shops right outside
- Security actively manages street vendors and traffic
- Solo female travelers report feeling safe
- Loretta and the entertainment team make the vibe
Heads up
- Beach chairs and umbrellas cost extra
- No elevator, top-floor rooms mean stairs with luggage
- Check-in delays and occasional room-category mix-ups
- No on-site medical protocol
No elevator—upstairs rooms require stairs; beach across street rents chairs/umbrellas; transportation arrangements can be unreliable; bring swim and cash for beach gear.
