Why travelers love it

“Family‑oriented all‑inclusive beachfront resort with personal vacation nanny service included”

Guests consistently praise the included nanny service for families and wide range of complimentary activities for kids and teens such as waterslides, supervised crafts, and nightly entertainment.

Best for families with young childrenBest for multi‑room suites

Food & drink

Strong

Authentic Jamaican cooking is a genuine highlight, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner earning consistent praise and staff happily accommodating off-menu requests. Expect home-style variety rather than gourmet polish or rotating buffet themes.

Dining overview

Four on‑site restaurants including Verandah (buffet and a la carte), Pier (adults‑only Italian), Overproof (adults‑only Jamaican specialties some nights), and Sea Cotton Tree Grill (casual sandwiches/grill until late); buffet and a la carte options available.

Beach

Strong

A clean, walkable stretch of Caribbean shoreline with clear water you can see straight through, plus a small private enclave right in front of the resort. Post-hurricane access to the neighboring beach is currently limited.

Small sheltered private beach area divided into two coves, safe for families but limited in size; jewel Runaway Bay Beach next door is larger and accessible to guests.

Pools

Mixed

Two pools plus the Big Blue waterslide keep kids happy, but the pool area is visibly dated and some slide features have been out of service. Functional and fun for families, not a design showpiece.

Editorial pool rating

Four outdoor pools including a main pool, two plunge or small pools, and a slide pool with a roughly 100‑ft waterslide; all are lifeguarded and family‑oriented.

Rooms & suites

78 rooms

One‑ to three‑bedroom suites with kitchenettes (microwave, stovetop, fridge—snack‑stocked), living/dining space, balcony/patio; decor dated but spacious; honeymoon suites lack fridge. All suites include free Wi‑Fi, satellite TV, AC, and often ocean views.

What’s included

Strong

When you factor in the included nanny, the all-day food, and the activity roster, the math works, especially for families who would otherwise pay for childcare. Just know you are paying for people and programming, not modern hardware.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Stretch

This is a family resort at heart, but couples traveling without kids have quietly enjoyed it thanks to warm staff and a low-key beach setting. Romance seekers looking for adults-only polish should look elsewhere.

Families

Ideal

The included personal nanny is the headline, and it genuinely transforms the trip: parents actually finish conversations while kids race off to goat races, crab races, water slides, and tie-dye. This is one of the strongest family resorts in Jamaica for young children and neurodivergent kids.

Peace & Quiet

Strong

Small, low-density, and refreshingly unhurried, especially post-hurricane when occupancy has been light. Kids are busy with nannies most of the day, which keeps common areas surprisingly calm.

Includes personal vacation nanny (9 am–4:40 pm), free land and water sports (kayaking, snorkeling, glass‑bottom boat), fitness center, spa treatments, playground, arcade/game room, tennis, basketball, evening entertainment, computers/cyber‑centre.

What past guests say

“We took my mom for her 80th birthday in July. We met a gentleman who was so kind to us, later found out that he was the manager. The staff was great, they made us feel at home and treated our mom/grandma with such love and respect. I would recommend this resort to anyone. Thanks to the ladies at the restaurant, they were all great. Thanks to Shana and her crew, their hospitality will definitely be remembered. Thank you to the manager who made us feel valued. Great resort to take your family....”

“I stayed there with my family recently. While FDR is a small and more private, the parking lot is small. A few days there were more guests than staff present. They provide Nanny service and although I did not need that service, they were very careful and engaging with the kids. The staff is very nice and appear to enjoy their jobs. They were usually approachable, but the young lady in rhe office seemed annoyed to answer questions. Renovations are urgently needed here. The rooms are large but...”

“We visited in the summer, my husband wanted to take his mom and couple other family members so we needed somewhere affordable. We booked two rooms. After checking out the photos we knew we had to take one for the team. Well upon arrival I felt disappointed, the place is run down and small. First I must say the rooms are spacious and I liked the layout. But don’t make the mistake and look at the mattress, at least 30yrs old…. Gross! The bathrooms are not sealed so the AC leaks if you leave...”

“This place is awesome I stayed for 2 nights in room 15 & 19 on the 21-22 July 2026. You guys are awesome the food was lovely. I particularly love the salads. Soups and stew beef which was chef kiss. The kids didn't want to leave, nanny's are great, the staff are fantastic and the services all around 10. You guys need to promote yourself more and should be proud of the services you offer.”
