Why travelers love it

“Beachfront all-inclusive resort with nonstop music and celebrity-style service”

Guests consistently praise the attentive staff, Butler service, and lively entertainment atmosphere that makes them feel like rock stars. Variability in service and dated rooms are occasional detractors.

Food & drink

Strong

Food punches above the typical Cancun all-inclusive average, with Ipanema, Frida, and the steakhouse drawing repeat praise. Room service arrives fast, though a few frequent travelers call it merely average.

Dining overview

Dining options include several à la carte specialty restaurants and an international buffet. Highlights are Zen (Asian/Teppanyaki), Ciao (Italian), Frida (Mexican), and Toro (Steakhouse), plus casual poolside pizza.

Beach

Strong

One guest called it the best sea in Cancun, and beach service from names like Jesus and Margarita is a genuine highlight. Sargassum shows up seasonally but rarely ruins the experience.

Expansive white-sand beach with beachside service.

Pools

Standout

The pool scene is the social heartbeat of the resort, with live music, foam parties, and a pool crew that knows returning guests by name. Service is genuinely exceptional.

Editorial pool rating

Large resort pools with swim-up bars and daily poolside entertainment.

Rooms & suites

600 rooms

What’s included

Strong

For most, the all-inclusive delivers strong value, especially with upgraded tiers that unlock butler service. Longtime Legendary members and a few first-timers feel the price has outpaced the aging hardware.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Good fit

The rock-and-roll energy, sunset views, and butler-arranged romantic dinners make it a fun pick for anniversaries and honeymoons rather than a serene retreat. Expect vibe over intimacy.

Families

Ideal

Multigenerational groups thrive here, thanks to Roxity Kids Club, the Music Lab, and butlers who juggle reservations for parties of nine. Kids leave already asking to return.

Peace & Quiet

Weak

This is a music-forward, high-energy property with nightly shows, foam parties, and live pool bands. Peace-seekers should book elsewhere.

Includes spa, fitness center, land sports, nightlife entertainment, game area, nightly shows, land sports and live music throughout resort.

What past guests say

“I don’t know why they don’t put on their website that this place is temporarily closed. It is a dump. Good thing they are remodeling it, but at least let people know.”

“We enjoyed our stay here, the hotel provided everything (indoors) for us as we visited during a weekend with a tropical storm with severe winds and rain. We made the best of it and was sadden by the weather. The Hardrock Hotel offered a variety of entertainment to provided us/guest with things to do.”

“Unfortunately, my experience was terrible. I fell for an email asking me to prepay for my stay, and it was a scam. I only realized it upon arrival, and the hotel refused to take responsibility, even though the email was from their domain, @hardrock.com. I lost $5,000 USD, which I had to pay again just to get away.”

“We had a great time at the pool party on Wednesday, July 3rd. I'd never experienced anything like it before. I really enjoyed it. Dash, Rebe, Kevin, Monse, Eliseo, Misht, Sam, Omar, Diana, and Yoha”

“Service was horrible. The pool was extremely cold and they didn't want to warm it up, I asked and they said no so I could not use the pool. My kid's lips turned blue in 20 min. I will continue going to Coral Beach Fiesta Americana where the water is very warm all year, and the service is great.”

What you should know

What to Know

The reservation app is clunky, the property is dated, and billing or booking snafus at check-in and check-out show up repeatedly. Upgrading to Hall of Fame for butler service transforms the stay.
