Why travelers love it
“All‑inclusive beach resort on a private horseshoe‑shaped key with two pristine beaches”
Guests consistently praise the spectacular, quiet beaches and friendly staff across both all‑ages and adults‑only sections. Many note well‑maintained grounds despite the resort’s age.
Food & drink
MixedFood is the resort's weak spot, a reflection of Cuba's broader supply crisis: expect a single open buffet with limited variety, closed à la cartes, and shortages of staples like cheese, eggs, and bread. A few bright spots (the Cuban à la carte, omelet station, Thursday lobster night) exist, but bring snacks.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Cuban à la carte and omelet station praised
- Thursday lobster and shrimp night is a highlight
- Buffet staff warm and attentive
- Canadian steak dinner with live guitar noted
Heads up
- Chronic shortages: no cheese, eggs, bread at times
- Specialty restaurants frequently closed
- Birds inside dining area grabbing food
- Reports of food poisoning

Beach
StandoutThe beach is the reason to book, full stop: two horseshoe-shaped stretches of powdery sand, turquoise water, and reef snorkeling that repeat guests rank among the best in the Caribbean. Even the harshest critics concede the beach is flawless.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Two protected, horseshoe-shaped beaches
- Powder-soft sand and clear turquoise water
- Snorkeling with rays, barracuda, conch shells
- Rarely crowded, feels almost private
- Standout bartenders like Yuniely at beach bar
Detailed beach reporting coming soon.
Pools
StrongPools are clean, well-kept, and a pleasant secondary attraction, with a spa pool near the Cuban à la carte drawing praise. They are not a headliner (the beaches steal the show) but they deliver.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Multiple clean, well-maintained pools
- Spa pool area a quiet favorite
- Poolside games and activities from entertainment team
Heads up
- Sometimes overshadowed by shortages at pool bars
What’s included
MixedValue hinges entirely on your expectations: if you accept this as Cuba, not a polished 5-star, the beach and staff justify the trip and many return yearly. If you booked expecting Mexico-tier all-inclusive luxury at a 5-star price, you will feel scammed.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Repeat visitors return 7 to 15 times
- Staff hospitality genuinely exceptional
- Beach quality unmatched at the price
- Support for Cuban people feels meaningful
Heads up
- Charged 5-star, delivers 3-star infrastructure
- Food shortages and closed restaurants
- Rooms visibly aged and in need of renovation
Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.
Amenities & activities
Couples
StretchRomance takes a back seat to nature here: the beaches and turquoise water are genuinely swoon-worthy, but tired rooms, dim pathways at night, and food inconsistency undercut a polished couples escape. Best for laid-back returnees, not first-time honeymooners.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Two stunning private beaches for long walks
- Spa with well-reviewed massages
- Live guitar dinners and beachfront sunsets
Heads up
- Rooms outdated, some with plumbing issues
- Poor lighting on paths between lobby and rooms
- Long walks between venues break the mood
Families
StretchFamilies do genuinely enjoy this resort thanks to the safe, shallow beaches and warm staff, and multiple parents singled out feeling secure with kids on property. The catch: unreliable late-night shuttles and food shortages make it harder with young children than at a polished Mexican family resort.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Two calm, shallow beaches ideal for kids
- Staff treat families like extended family
- Snorkeling right offshore: conch, rays, fish
- Reports of feeling exceptionally safe
Heads up
- Late-night shuttle waits with kids (3+ hours reported)
- Rats and cockroaches sighted on property
- Limited kid-friendly food variety
Peace & Quiet
StrongSet on a private horseshoe key with just one resort complex, this is a genuinely peaceful spot where the loudest sound is the surf. Nightly entertainment is lively but contained, so light sleepers and readers get their beach solitude by day.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Private key, one resort only, no crowds
- Vast grounds spread guests out
- Beaches feel uncrowded and untouched
- Lobby designed as calm open-air lounge
Heads up
- Evening entertainment can be loud near main areas

“Amazing resort!”
★★★★★
“We went last July. We paid for the all-inclusive package. It was a complete disaster. The dining areas were far away, there was no food, and it was full of flies. The trays were covered in nylon and were swarming with flies. My husband got sick with a fever and diarrhea. I absolutely do not recommend it. It was a complete rip-off in every aspect of the service.”

“By far my favorite resort. The beach is the best I've seen and the staff are wonderful . It has awesome snorkling.”
★★★★★
“First time in Cuba. Has its pros which are the beautiful beaches, beautiful gardens, the staff at the buffet are soo friendly and clean pool area. Some cons The rooms are outdated and could use some touch ups. Saw rats on the resort and cockroaches. Due to the current state of Cuba, it was well worth it to support the people. Be aware that the busses that bring you to the à la carte meals at the gallery resort are not reliable. Got left waiting 3+ hours for the bus with two kids at 11:30 at nigh”
