Why travelers love it

“Oceanfront resort in lush gardens with six pools, spa, themed dining, and live nightly shows”

Guests consistently praise the beachfront location, friendly entertainment team, and the multiple pools. Family‑friendly facilities like Star Camp and the spa also get regular mentions.

Best for familiesBest for multigenerational groupsBest for beach‑focused vacations

Food & drink

Strong

Buffet variety and themed à la carte restaurants land well, with the Italian earning particular praise. Expect Cuban-context limitations: occasional shortages, slow replenishment, and closures at some specialty venues.

Dining overview

The resort offers four themed specialties and a main buffet; guests report varied quality and occasional service or buffet cleanliness issues.

Beach

Standout

Varadero delivers here: a wide, clean stretch of soft sand with warm, calm water and lifeguards on duty. Beach animation and coconut service add real character.

Detailed beach reporting coming soon.

Pools

Standout

Six pools spread the crowd, stay clean, and host the resort's best daytime energy with games, dance classes, and attentive bar staff. A couple of pool-adjacent facilities show their age.

Detailed pool reporting coming soon.

Rooms & suites

814 rooms

Contains standard rooms and suites with balcony or terrace, air conditioning, minibar (restocked every two days), full bathroom; rooms appear dated with reports of humidity, mold, maintenance issues.

Room details here are AI-assisted, compiled from the resort's own website and public sources. Categories and names change often — confirm the exact room when you book.

What’s included

Strong

For Varadero all-inclusive pricing, the entertainment, beach, and service punch well above the room quality. You're paying for the experience and the staff, not for a polished five-star product.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Good fit

A relaxed, romantic-enough pick for couples who want lively entertainment without a party-hard scene. Beach views, evening shows, and warm service carry the mood more than luxury polish.

Families

Ideal

A genuine family workhorse with a beloved mini club, constant activities, and calm swimmable water. Kids stay busy while parents actually get downtime.

Peace & Quiet

Strong

Balanced vibe: enough animation to keep you engaged, enough space to disappear into a quiet corner. Peak summer brings noise, but relaxation is easy to find.

Includes six outdoor pools, spa with hydrotherapy, fitness center, tennis, children’s Star Camp, entertainment shows nightly, bars, restaurants, and a beauty salon.

What past guests say

“We stayed at this hotel in December 2025, and I must say I expected terrible conditions, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, helpful, and smiling, despite the significant shortage of supplies. They did their best to make us feel valued. It certainly helped that we received different-colored wristbands (blue), and as I noticed, there were only 10-12 people in this huge hotel who wore them. What this meant was that we didn't go to the dining room with everyone else; we had...”

Know before you book

  • Rooms dated, humidity or mold issues reported
  • Extra $15 USD beach‑towel deposit per towel
  • Wi‑Fi unreliable and requires purchase
  • Cleaning inconsistencies and maintenance issues (e.g. broken fridge, damp smell)

What you should know

What to Know

Come with the right expectations: an older property with warm staff, not a modern luxury build. Bring toiletries, budget for the towel deposit, and confirm à la carte bookings on arrival.

VRA nearest airport

Bring your own bath towels if Wi‑Fi or towel exchange is important; expect to purchase Wi‑Fi access; early morning beach chair reservations help; frequent cleaning inconsistencies suggest being proactive with housekeeping requests.
