Why travelers love it

“Sprawling beachfront resort in Varadero with gardens, multiple dining options, spa, and lively entertainment.”

Guests frequently praise the attentive staff, beautiful beach, and variety of entertainment options.

Food & drink

Mixed

Expect Cuban all-inclusive realities: plentiful but repetitive buffet with limited variety, some tasty standouts, and the occasional inedible dish. Set expectations low and you'll eat well enough.

Dining details coming soon.

Beach

Standout

The beach is the headline act: soft white sand, turquoise water, and enough space that you'll always find a palapa. It's the reason guests return year after year.

Detailed beach reporting coming soon.

Pools

Strong

A clean, pleasant pool area that plays supporting role to the beach, with lots of seating and a lively bar scene at the Nativa. Structural details show their age.

Editorial pool rating

Pools flank a central tree‑lined boulevard, including an outdoor pool, a children’s pool and whirlpool; central gardens and shaded lounging areas.

Rooms & suites

391 rooms

391 rooms in 11 low-rise buildings with balcony or terrace; standard amenities include A/C, minibar, safe, hairdryer, satellite TV, coffee maker, iron on request.

Room details here are AI-assisted, compiled from the resort's own website and public sources. Categories and names change often — confirm the exact room when you book.

What’s included

Mixed

For the low Cuba price point, repeat visitors feel they get their money's worth thanks to the beach and the people. Pay a premium expecting a true four-star and you'll leave disappointed.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Good fit

A genuinely romantic little escape with gorgeous beach sunsets, warm staff, and a laid-back vibe that couples return to year after year. Just don't expect polished luxury.

Families

Stretch

Multi-generational groups keep coming back for the beach, gentle pace, and family-like staff, though the aging rooms and limited kids' infrastructure mean it suits easygoing families more than kids-club devotees.

Peace & Quiet

Strong

A calm, low-key stay by Varadero standards, with spacious grounds and low occupancy meaning empty loungers and unhurried mornings. Evenings bring music but rarely a party.

Main buffet and specialty restaurants, multiple bars, beauty salon, spa/sauna (charge for massages), gym, entertainment program, disco, non‑motorized water sports, mini‑club (4‑12 yrs), kids pool, meeting rooms, tour desk, medical services.

What past guests say

“Spent a week here with my mom. Superb service, beach activities were constant and they really get creative with their lunches. So easy to get a round too. I was hesitant to accept a cheap snorkeling tour on the beach, however we did it and it was absolutely beautiful. We did two snorkeling trips, booked one through the front desk and another just an offer on the beach. Taking that offer/tour was 1000% better than booking through the desk. 10/10 would stay again!”

“Beach is great, food is mediocre.”

“Had a great experience here, near enough to Veradero with a short cab drive. Locals were welcoming and helpful. The resort had a lot of events and entertainment. Beaches were fantastic. Rooms were nice, but definitely could've used a better mattress for the week we spent. Dining was decent as well. Overall, very pleased with the experience.”

This is old, off-strip Cuba: 20 km from Varadero town, an aging property with real maintenance issues, and a country in economic crisis that shapes everything from menus to tipping. Come with open eyes and pack accordingly.
