Why travelers love it
“A budget‑friendly all‑ages apart‑hotel steps from Varadero Beach.”
Guests value the central location and beach proximity, along with the simple, functional accommodations.
Food & drink
WeakFood is the property's weakest link: undercooked meals, minimal choice, and stretches when the kitchen simply ran out. Plan to eat off-property.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Salsa band adds atmosphere at meals
- Beach bar occasionally well-stocked
Heads up
- Reports of no food for two weeks
- Meals served practically raw
- Very limited variety
- Long lines just for beer
Dining overview
There is a buffet restaurant and bars or snack bars offering meals and drinks throughout the day.
Beach
StrongThe Varadero sand out front is the single genuine draw: soft, calm, and among the Caribbean's best. Everything good about a stay here happens on that beach.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Legendary Varadero white sand
- Steps from the water
- Waves audible from the rooms
- Beach bar on-site
Varadero’s sandy beach is a short walk away (about 200‑250 m), with clear water and public loungers available nearby.
Pools
WeakThe pool has been repeatedly reported empty or drained, and when filled it looks murky and neglected. Do not plan your day around it.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Pool bar exists when operating
Heads up
- Pool drained for extended periods
- Water a questionable color
- Pool washrooms without toilet paper
The resort has an outdoor pool with a children’s section, sun loungers and parasols available by the pool.
Rooms & suites
422 roomsRooms range from standard rooms to one‑ and two‑bedroom apartments with kitchenettes, air‑conditioning, satellite TV and balconies in many units.
Room details here are AI-assisted, compiled from the resort's own website and public sources. Categories and names change often — confirm the exact room when you book.
What’s included
MixedCheap for a reason: a handful of guests call it fair for the price, but most feel even the low rate does not cover raw food, no wifi, and a dry pool.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Low nightly rate
- Beachfront location for the money
Heads up
- $25 per hour for wifi at an all-inclusive
- All-inclusive missing basics like wine and food
- A shadow of its former self
Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.
Amenities & activities
Couples
Not a fitNot a romantic pick: tired facilities, spotty hot water, and vulgar music in the bars undercut any date-night mood. The Varadero beach itself is the only romance on offer.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Waves audible from outer buildings at night
- Beach location right on the sand
Heads up
- Hot water practically nonexistent
- Rooms with mold and grime reported
- Loud, coarse music in bars
Families
Not a fitA few families call Varadero itself a safe paradise, but the hotel's raw food, empty pool, and hours-long check-in waits make it a rough landing with kids.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Varadero beach is safe and calm
- Cuban salsa entertainment kids can enjoy
Heads up
- Hours-long waits at check-in
- Pool has been drained
- Food quality unsafe for kids
Peace & Quiet
MixedVaradero outside the gates is peaceful, but inside expect loud, vulgar music at the bars and inconsistent atmosphere. Outer blocks near the waves are the calmest corners.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Outer buildings hear only the surf
- Varadero area itself is tranquil
Heads up
- Vulgar music at full volume in bars
- Inattentive, chatty bar staff
Amenities include a pool, buffet dining, bars, playground, sports like table tennis and volleyball, and water‑sports available nearby for a fee.

What past guests say
“I spent a weekend in this resort, and there is nothing that compares to this. The beach of Varadero is unmatched by any of the Caribbean. The hotel is all set inclusive with a lot of authentic Cuban culture. The Salsa band was extremely talented and see people dancing so well and teaching is amazing. Varadero is really peaceful, beautiful, and a safe. A perfect spot a family just wanting to enjoy paradise.”

“Nothing like it was when it was all-inclusive and cost 35 CUC a night. Back then, it was very good value for money, with a varied buffet, clean rooms, a clean pool, and a beach bar that few hotels in this low category have well-stocked, as well as a lobby bar and a pool bar. Unfortunately, now it's a shadow of what it was just 6 or 7 years ago when there were always foreign guests. You can only expect a room to sleep in where hot water is practically nonexistent, and the air conditioning...”

“I arrived at this hotel today and was very disappointed. My family and I traveled a long way to get here, only to wait for hours for a room, even though check-in is supposedly at 4 pm. The service was terrible, the food was practically raw—in short, I don't recommend it.”

What you should know
What to Know
Come with realistic expectations and a backup plan for meals and connectivity. This is a place to sleep between beach walks, not a full resort experience.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Outer block rooms are the better ones
- Restaurants outside the hotel are a better bet for meals
Heads up
- Wifi charged by the hour at high rates
- Check-in delays past the posted 4 pm
- Basic supplies (toilet paper, wine, beer) often out
Check‑in is from 16:00 and check‑out at 12:00. Internet in public areas is paid. Bring realistic expectations about food quality and limited alcohol options.
