Beach
StandoutThe wide, walkable Varadero beach is the single strongest reason to book. Soft sand stretches 30 minutes in either direction with easy chair availability.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Wide, walkable sand
- Plenty of loungers, no chair hunt
- Swimmable clear water
- Beach bar and BBQ steps away
Wide white‑sand beach with turquoise water. Clean and swimmable, quiet zone for hotel guests with security and separated from street vendors.
Pools
StrongA large pool area with room to spread out, a poolside snack that shifts à la carte at night, and pool games as part of the animation. Solid, not fancy.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Spacious pool deck
- Chairs always available
- Pool games and animation
- Snack bar right there
Heads up
- No swim-up bar highlighted

What’s included
MixedOpinions split hard: at Cuba prices around $700 the beach and staff feel like a steal, but pay European rates and the tired rooms sting. Book with lowered expectations and it delivers.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Strong price-to-beach ratio
- Repeat guests returning 4, 30+ times
- VIP upgrade praised by some
Heads up
- Rooms feel 4-star only by Cuba standards
- VIP upgrade called overpriced by others
- Card terminals often fail
- Overpriced for European travelers
Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.
Amenities & activities
Couples
Good fitAn adults-only, low-key Varadero pick where anniversaries, Valentine's and sunset mojitos on the balcony feel genuinely special. Romance here is about warm service and quiet gardens, not luxury polish.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Adults-only atmosphere
- Anniversary and Valentine's celebrations noted
- Sunset balcony views
- Concierge team remembers names
Heads up
- Dated rooms undercut romance for some

- Repeat multigenerational visitors
Heads up
- Adults-only: no one under 18
- No kids club or kid amenities

StrongA calm, garden-wrapped retreat where daytime is genuinely peaceful and evenings bring lively but contained Cuban shows. If you want to nap by the pool and dance after dinner, the balance is right.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Calm daytime atmosphere
- Lush gardens and walking paths
- Entertainment stays in the lobby/theatre area
- Bungalow rooms shielded from noise
Heads up
- Poor soundproofing between rooms

“Honestly I've been to mexico 5 star resorts and this 4 star resort was pretty good. I did lower my standards for cuba as I know they don't have everything mexico has food power etc. We always had hot water, food was passable (outside resort way better) brought my own ketchup and hot sauce. Omelets are amazing. Water pressure in shower was shit. The bathrooms and tub area can use renos. Bedroom was big and spacious and clean. Always power aswell. Ac works amazing. Staff are friendly. - inconsistent maintenance and dated facilities
- cold or poor food quality, hygiene issues reported by some guests
- Repetitive buffet after a few days
What you should know
What to Know
This is Cuba, not Mexico: rooms are dated, plumbing is quirky, and card machines fail, so bring cash and calibrate expectations. The staff and beach are what turn the stay around.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Concierges Greter and Elsa flagged repeatedly
- Cuban Day and nightly shows worth attending
- Easy bus/taxi access to Varadero town
- Bungalow rooms quieter than main building
Heads up
- Card payment terminals unreliable, bring cash
- Rooms and bathrooms dated, some mold reports
- Weak shower pressure and hit-or-miss hot water
- VIP upgrade value depends on room location
Bring voltage converters (220V outlets). Wi‑Fi is paid or limited to lobby PCs. Dress warmly in December evenings and bring bug spray, especially for lower‑floor rooms.
