Why travelers love it
Guests frequently praise the consistently warm, personable service and strong value even amid local challenges. The setting between lush hills and a calm beach earns high marks.

Beach
StandoutA protected cove with a live reef just steps from shore makes this one of the best snorkeling beaches in Cuba. Narrower than Varadero's famous strips, but calm, shaded, and swimmable.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Reef snorkeling straight from the sand
- Calm, safe swimming water
- Shaded areas along the length
- Beach bar service is genuinely warm
Heads up
- Beach is narrower than Varadero proper
Clear calm water, cleaned daily; sand and sea framed by mountains, modest-sized beach accessed via hillside.

Pools
StrongA generously sized pool with plenty of loungers anchors the daytime scene, with pool animation that repeat guests enjoy. Maintenance gaps (missing tiles, one broken hot tub) are the recurring gripe.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Spacious pool, ample loungers
- Daytime animation around the pool
- Elaine and pool bar team are memorable
Heads up
- Missing pool tiles create sharp edges
- Only one of two hot tubs works, and it's cold
- One report of a green pool during a low period
One large swimming pool with pool bar; relaxed atmosphere, views of mountains, no waterpark.

“update Feb 2026: We are very sorry our April flight was canceled by the airline. We wanted to send a message of support: don't give up! We will see you again as soon as possible. Cuba is always in our hearts. Dec 2025: It is one of the best places for beach snorkeling. The rooms are good and clean. The food is among the best we have had in Cuba. There is a great entertainment program, including a hike to a nearby hill and evening performances, plus a piano bar where you can practice singing. We ”

“Unfortunately not alot of the money people spend on this resort is actually being out back into the place. It is quite rundown. The staff is it's only saving grace. They cannot do enough for you. The location is also great. Excellent for. Snorkeling. I realize the entire country is struggling right now but it is evident that sunwing has been ignoring this resort for years.”

“Just got back from a week stay! Beautiful area, tucked away therefore feels less typically touristy. Beautiful grounds, nice beach, very polite staff. Food was good, many choices and most days fresh fish to be grilled in front of you. Room was clean, had the ocean view (totally worth it!) Evening shows were well choreographed and entertaining. All in all, a very nice stay at a beautiful resort :)”

“A Disappointing Latest Visit We have been at this resort several times over the years and were always very pleased with the experience. However, our latest visit was very disappointing. Now, before I get into the downsides, let me highlight the positives: The staff are amazing, and the natural beauty of the resort is wonderful. My main concern, and the reason for the poor rating, is the food and drink selection—or lack thereof. It was the worst I have ever seen at an all-inclusive resort (and I ”

“I visited the veradero location, the rooms were simple and clean, our AC worked well but the fridge was not working. The resort itself offered plenty of activities and different entertainment, a special thank you to the man that played the guitar in the piano bar, it was such a good vibe in there every night, so much fun! Mucho Mucho grasias! The staff were so friendly and kind and made this vacation a great experience. The restaurants offered lots of variety and the food was tasty. In addition ”
