Why travelers love it

“Compact beachfront resort in Cancun’s Hotel Zone with ocean and lagoon views”

Guests consistently praise the beautiful beachfront location, friendly attentive staff, and tasteful renovation areas. Many highlight clean rooms, swim‑up bar, and ocean‑view options.

Food & drink

Strong

Buffet breakfast is the standout, and the four à la carte restaurants (Italian, Japanese, and the beach grill) punch above the resort's price point. Dinner buffet can feel repetitive on longer stays, and a strict dress code catches some off guard.

Dining overview

Four on‑site restaurants including a beachfront deck venue plus buffet breakfast and a la carte lunch and dinner; two bars including pool bar and lobby bar.

Beach

Standout

The beachfront is the resort's headline: soft sand, calm water, and one of the best-shaded beach setups in the Hotel Zone with hammocks, beds, loungers, and attentive waiters. Sargassum is cleaned daily, though a rough summer week can still push guests to travel for cleaner sand.

Editorial beach rating

Powder‑white sand and calm turquoise water right steps from resort with ample loungers, shade palapas, and attentive beach staff; seaweed is well managed.

Pools

Strong

A single lively pool anchored by a strong entertainment crew running volleyball, salsa lessons, and pool workouts. Fun if you want to join in, tougher if you just want to swim laps mid-afternoon.

Editorial pool rating

Two outdoor pools including an infinity beach‑side pool with pool bar and activities; a separate quieter pool offers respite but has limited loungers.

Rooms & suites

Mix of room styles across about five low‑rise towers; categories include Basic (some without windows), Standard, Junior Suites, and Master Suites; many rooms feature private balconies with ocean or lagoon views, mini‑fridges, flat‑screens, coffeemakers; décor varies by building, Wi‑Fi can be spotty.

Room details here are AI-assisted, compiled from the resort's own website and public sources. Categories and names change often — confirm the exact room when you book.

What’s included

Strong

Genuinely strong value for an oceanfront Hotel Zone all-inclusive: you get the beach, the food, and the service of pricier neighbors without the polish. Rooms are older and some smell of humidity, so temper luxury expectations.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Good fit

A quietly romantic pick for honeymooners and anniversaries who want a smaller, warm-feeling resort over a glitzy mega-property. Expect thoughtful staff touches and ocean-view suites rather than shows, casinos, or late-night scene.

Families

Stretch

Workable for families thanks to a compact layout, pool activities, and a calm beach, but the property is not stroller-friendly and a few late-night disturbances have rattled family stays. Best for families with older kids rather than infants.

Peace & Quiet

Strong

A peaceful, low-key retreat by Cancun standards, with lobby live music and pool activities rather than nightclubs or big stage shows. A minority of stays have been marred by outside noise and paper-thin walls.

Includes spa treatments (indoor and beach), small fitness center, tour desk, photo studio, business center, gift shop, computers, beach volleyball, laundry (extra charge), elevator in some towers.

What past guests say

“I spent 5 days in Cancun at the NYX Hotel and it honestly exceeded my expectations. It's a small hotel compared to others, and everyone treated us very kindly, from the reception staff and housekeepers to the waiters. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the beach was very clean, and the food was maybe an 8/10, except for the Japanese restaurant, which was a 10/10. I would definitely return.”

“Good hotel in a prime location in the hotel zone The hotel is located in Cancún's hotel zone. We didn't know exactly what that meant beforehand either, and we were unsure whether it would be better to stay in the center or in the hotel zone. Do you love the beach, a luxurious environment, and don't necessarily want to go out? Then I would definitely choose the hotel zone. The center is busier and more chaotic, but at the same time, it has its own charm. The hotel itself was just fine. Some...”

“We loved staying at this hotel. Very friendly staff. Delicious food. It's a very nice place to vacation. We were with our child, and even though there weren't many other children around, we received excellent service.”

“This is the third time that we have stayed at this resort but the first time doing all-inclusive premium and I don't think I could ever go back to regular stays. we booked a Cabana for every single day we were here and had the most attentive anticipatory and friendliest fella taking care of us up until our last moments. you were shocked to find out Areilliano only only been there 3 months. we ended up signing up for their vacation package, which means we will be staying here for 3 weeks out...”

“Mostly negative experience with NYX Hotel. Their deluxe room listed on the 3rd party websites as having a king size bed, while one of the rooms we got had 2 double beds. One of the rooms had dehumidifier and one didn't, so there was a constant smell in the room. NYX Vacation Club people are extremely annoying, the management need to explain to them when they are told very directly "we're not interested" there is no need to keep pushing and being borderline rude. The hotel hosted a weeding on...”

What you should know

What to Know

Come knowing this is a compact, older-bones property where charm comes from staff and setting, not gleaming finishes. Read your booking category carefully, pack a nicer outfit for dinner, and skip the in-lobby tour desk pitch.
