Why travelers love it
“Beachfront resort in Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone with free Wi‑Fi and a spa”
Guests praise the location, especially proximity to the Romantic Zone and Malecon, as well as friendly staff and clean public areas
Food & drink
MixedBuffet is the heart of the all-inclusive, with fresh, rotating options that most find genuinely good, though the package covers only the main restaurant and pool bar. Standards have improved recently, but a few call the spread basic or the service uneven.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Buffet rotates daily with fresh options
- Pool bar drinks included
- Two-for-one happy hour
- Friendly, memorable waiters
Heads up
- All-inclusive limited to main restaurant and pool bar
- A few call the buffet poor or basic
- Cheap liquor on the AI menu
Dining overview
Offers on‑site dining with oceanfront restaurant Mi Pueblito and palapa bar El Agave plus European‑plan option

Beach
StrongA genuine beachfront location on Playa Los Muertos with attentive chair-and-umbrella service is a real draw, even if the entry is more rocky than powder-soft. Convenience beats pristine sand here.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Steps from pool to sand
- Beach butlers set chairs and umbrellas
- Outdoor rinse shower between pool and beach
- Sunset views over Banderas Bay
Heads up
- Entry can be rocky
- Persistent vendor approaches
Small golden‑sand beach directly in front of the hotel, with lounge chairs and active vendors, easy walk to the Malecon
Pools
StrongThe multi-level pool with a rock waterfall is consistently one of the highlights, kept clean and well-staffed with big beach towels on tap. Chairs can get scarce at peak times and it fills with kids during holidays.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Rock waterfall feature
- Multiple connected pools
- Clean water, comfortable temperature
- Large towel exchange throughout the day
Heads up
- Hard to grab chairs at peak times
- Very kid-heavy during school breaks
Multiple outdoor pools including an infinity pool with a pool bar, no water slides, lively vibe
Rooms & suites
Colonial‑Mexican style rooms and suites, some recently refurbished, room service available
Room details here are AI-assisted, compiled from the resort's own website and public sources. Categories and names change often — confirm the exact room when you book.
What’s included
StrongFor the Romantic Zone address and beachfront, the price is genuinely fair, and repeat guests come back for decades. But value hinges entirely on which room you land in, and the all-inclusive upgrade doesn't deliver the same range as bigger resorts.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Rare AI option inside the Romantic Zone
- Around $170/night in reported rates
- Day pass around $70 includes meals and beach
- Decades of loyal repeat guests
Heads up
- All-inclusive is limited vs. big-name AIs
- Room quality lottery undermines the price
- Non-refundable deposit disputes reported
Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.
Amenities & activities
Couples
Good fitThe Romantic Zone location, beachfront setting, and lobby-restaurant vibe make this a charming, walkable base for couples who want old-town Vallarta on their doorstep. Just know it's not adults-only, and room quality is a coin flip that can dent the mood.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Steps from Malecón, bars, and boutiques
- Beachfront pool with sunset views
- Romantic colonial-style lobby and restaurant
- Honeymooners report a delightful stay
Heads up
- No dedicated adult area
- Street-side rooms can be loud past 2 a.m.
- Dated rooms undercut romance
Families
StretchKids can splash in the shallow pool and the beach is right there, but there's no kids club, extra guests can trigger surprise fees, and moldy or noisy rooms have upset families more than once. Fine for a short town-based stay, not a dedicated family resort.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Shallow pool sections work for little kids
- Beachfront with easy pool-to-sand access
- Staff will accommodate room requests (ground floor, etc.)
Heads up
- No kids club or dedicated kids programming
- Extra child charged $25/night in some cases
- Mold and noise issues unsuitable for young children
- Pool can feel overrun at holidays
Peace & Quiet
WeakThis is a lively old-town hotel, not a retreat: street-side rooms hear the Romantic Zone until the small hours, and beach vendors approach frequently. Ocean-view rooms on higher floors are the only reliable path to calm.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Ocean-side upper floors are peaceful
- Pool area relaxed during daytime
Heads up
- Street-side rooms noisy until 2:30 a.m.
- Frequent vendor solicitations on the beach
- Housekeeping chatter in some corridors
Offers spa, infinity pool with pool bar, beachfront location, walking access to shops and nightlife

“⭐ Extremely Disappointing Experience at Los Arcos Resort in Puerto Vallarta Our experience at Los Arcos Resort in Puerto Vallarta was absolutely horrible and far below our expectations. The room was dirty, outdated, and in desperate need of renovation. The food was very disappointing, and the constant interruptions from vendors on the beach made it difficult to relax and enjoy our vacation. The experience was so bad that we had to leave the resort within just two hours of arriving and move...”

“We always enjoy our stay here! We keep coming back here because of the warm hospitality of everyone who works there. A special thank you to our house keeper Angelica. She was especially kind and helpful when the "hurricane" hit. Everyone at the dining area and bars were generous and remembered our names and our orders which make us feel so welcome. This is why Arcos is our second home!!!”

Book with eyes open: this is an older property where renovated rooms are worth insisting on, and the all-inclusive covers only the main restaurant and pool bar. Location and staff carry the experience; management of the room stock does not.
