Why travelers love it

“All‑inclusive beachfront resort in Playa del Carmen with lush gardens and family‑friendly amenities”

Guests consistently praise the beachfront setting with white‑sand beach and calm clear water. Daily activities, family‑oriented amenities like the kids club, and multiple pools with a swim‑up bar are frequent highlights.

Food & drink

Mixed

Two à la carte restaurants (Italian is the standout) plus a buffet that swings between solid and sub-par depending on your visit. Snack options between meals are thin and the process gets clunky.

Dining overview

Multiple venues: Chula Vista buffet, Botticelli (Italian a la carte), Terraza Grill (Mexican), Deli Snack Bar, Ice Cream Parlor, tea time café; standard package includes buffets and domestic drinks, premium package adds access to premium lounge and branded cocktails

Beach

Strong

A wide, shallow, walk-out beach that ranks among the resort's best assets, with staff actively raking sargassum when it lands. June visitors should still brace for seaweed.

Editorial beach rating

White‑sand beach with calm turquoise waters, good for kayaking, snorkeling, lounge chairs and umbrellas provided, non‑crowded feel despite being public beach

Pools

Mixed

Pools are pretty and the swim-up bar is a highlight, but service falls apart at peak hours: bars close early, staff can be rude, and cleanliness slips.

Editorial pool rating

Two large outdoor pools facing the ocean, one with swim‑up bar; plus a separate kids pool, water sports demos and daily aquatic activities

What’s included

Strong

For the mid-range price point most guests feel they got their money's worth, especially families drawn in by entertainment and the beach. Push into premium expectations and cracks show.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Stretch

Works for a low-key honeymoon thanks to the jungle-villa layout and peaceful nights, but thin walls, a mosquito-plagued romance dinner and inconsistent service keep it from being a romance destination.

Families

Good fit

A genuine family win: kids club staff are warm, the entertainment team (led by Manuel) runs constant activities kids adore, and the shallow beach lets little ones wade far out.

Peace & Quiet

Strong

The jungle setting and villa layout deliver genuine daytime tranquility, and nights wind down peacefully once shows end. Just avoid rooms near service corridors.

Amenities include full‑service spa, fitness center/gym, non‑motorized water sports, supervised kids club, nightly entertainment, bicycles, ping‑pong, board games, tour desk and PADI dive center off‑site

“Not recommended at all. Honestly, it's a terrible hotel. All the staff are incredibly lazy, the buffet is always the same, there's no entertainment whatsoever, and they trick you into buying a day pass when it's really just a membership. It's one of the most boring hotels I've ever been to, and the food was awful.”

“An unforgettable experience, all the staff were very attentive and all the services were excellent.”

“Stayed for over 2 weeks in August. In itself a reasonable 3-star hotel and reasonably priced, however, there are also a few downsides to this outdated complex. A number of points: limited entertainment, outdated rooms, dirty mattresses, although they were cleaned well. Every morning at 8:00 AM, 75% of the sunbeds are filled with towels (read: no people), and nothing is done about it. On some days, it can be very busy at the pool bar. Unfortunately, I noticed several times that Mexicans were...”
