Why travelers love it
“Upscale beachfront all‑inclusive with water‑park access within RIU resort complex”
Guests praise the beachfront location with turquoise calm waters, spacious suites with stocked minibars and liquor dispensers, and free access to Splash Water World and sister RIU properties
Food & drink
StrongBuffet variety is solid with no reservations required at à la carte, but this is mass-produced resort food, not fine dining. The Steak House and Italian earn the most praise; Luigi's buffet and drink quality drag the average down.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- No reservations at à la carte
- Steak House and Italian standouts
- Wide buffet variety across venues
- Waiters like Yunma at La Isabela go above and beyond
Heads up
- Mass-produced feel at buffets
- Cheap liquor and weak cocktails
- À la carte lines can stretch hours in peak weeks

Beach
StrongA wide, pretty Punta Cana beach with reliable chair availability and easy access from the rooms. Sargassum has been heavy in recent weeks and cleanup crews have not kept pace.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Plenty of chairs, no chair wars
- Beach at your doorstep from rooms
- Excursions bookable right on the sand
- Classic Punta Cana warm, calm water
Heads up
- Heavy sargassum in summer months
- Cleanup crews behind other Punta Cana resorts
Detailed beach reporting coming soon.
Pools
StrongMultiple pools with bathwater-warm temperatures, in-water loungers, and a genuine adults-only zone alongside a family pool. Cleaning schedules and bar service are the friction points.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- In-pool lounger seats
- Warm, clean water
- Separate adult and family pools
- Swim-up bar action all day
Heads up
- Pool decks not always cleaned
- Bartenders inconsistent with drink orders
Rooms & suites
676 roomsAll rooms are junior suites or suites with minibar-restocked liquor dispenser, coffee maker, satellite TV, safe, balcony or terrace; suites larger with living area and whirlpool tub in some

What’s included
MixedFair value if you treat it as a solid four-star family resort, poor value if you booked expecting the Palace and Elite tiers to feel truly premium. Dated rooms and mid-tier liquor are the recurring gap between price and product.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Strong entertainment for the price
- Complex access extends what you get
- Elite adults-only section delivers when booked
Heads up
- Rooms feel eight-plus years past a refresh
- Mid-range liquor with no premium options
- Elite and butler promises not always honored
Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.
Amenities & activities
Couples
Good fitA surprisingly strong couples pick within a family resort, thanks to an adults-only pool section and lively evening parties like Riu Neon. Expect a warm, celebratory vibe rather than intimate seclusion.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Adults-only pool zone on property
- Riu Neon party and live entertainment
- Staff make a fuss over birthdays and anniversaries
- Complex access adds date-night variety
Heads up
- Dated rooms undercut romance
- Not a quiet honeymoon retreat
Families
Good fitA workhorse family resort with baby-friendly pools, a walkable Splash World water park, and enough to keep multi-generational groups busy. Rooms and upkeep are the weak link, not the family experience.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Splash World water park within walking distance
- Great pool for babies and toddlers
- Calmer family pool separate from party zone
- Multi-resort access broadens dining and activities
Heads up
- Room cleanliness and pest reports
- Not luxury-tier for the price
Peace & Quiet
MixedThis is a lively, entertainment-forward Riu, not a peaceful retreat. Show volume carries to the beach and pool music runs through the day, though double-glazed rooms keep noise out once you close the door.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Double-glazed windows block outside noise
- Quiet corners exist if you seek them out
- Calmer family pool available
Heads up
- Show volume overwhelms the beach
- Pool fitness music audible from sand
- Restaurants and bars run loud and crowded
Three outdoor pools including children’s slides, swim‑up bar; Splash Water World water park access; Riu Land kids club; Pacha nightclub; Renova Spa; tennis courts and gym; non‑motorized water sports; nightly entertainment

What past guests say
“Excellent hotel, excellent location, and above all, incredible service. I especially want to highlight the positive energy, helpfulness, and friendliness of all the staff, who always treated us with the utmost care and a smile. In particular, I want to mention Junior and Félix from the Riu Palace Punta Cana for their outstanding service. However, I must also mention that everyone else was excellent and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Without a doubt, this hotel is 100% highly...”

“Our room smelled musty. We told customer service who said it would eventually go away. Our clothes all smelled like it when we got home, & even my hair smells gross after washing it. Food was ok. The buffetts were good. The Italian restaurant is the only one that we personally loved. They don't limit people trying to sell you stuff on the beach, so you WILL be asked constantly to buy things. Staff were very pleasant. Pools were small, but one had a pool bar & people from other resorts were...”
