Why travelers love it

“Family‑friendly beachfront all‑inclusive resort with a kids’ water park and swim‑up bar”

Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, wide beachfront location, and fun pool and kids’ club areas

Food & drink

Mixed

Buffet-heavy dining that's hit-or-miss: fine for the price point but with real cleanliness complaints and repetitive breakfast options. À la carte spots like Bogavante and the new Asian venue Tavo pull the average up, and poolside pizza is a genuine bright spot.

Dining overview

Features buffet and à la carte dining. Restaurants include Las Fuentes (themed buffet), Rosmarinus (beachfront buffet), Marco Polo (à la carte international), and Tavo (à la carte oriental). A snack bar and Pizzalísima pizzeria are also available. The all-inclusive plan covers meals and midnight snacks.

Beach

Mixed

A serviceable Cancun Hotel Zone beach with plenty of shaded seating and easy access, but not the star of the show. Opinions swing from 'purest azure sea' to simply 'not that great,' so temper expectations.

Editorial beach rating

Beach is directly on the Hotel Zone beachfront, with modest loungers and palapas shared with next‑door GR Caribe; decent sand and swimmability but occasional sargassum and rough water reported

Pools

Strong

A large, well-decorated main pool packed with entertainers, water aerobics, and foam parties, plus a mellower adults-only Caribe pool for escape. The animation team (Eder, Maggi, Israel, Matías) is a genuine highlight.

Editorial pool rating

Property has a large multi‑level main pool with swim‑up bar, kids’ dipping pool, waterfall features, plus hot tubs and indoor/play area in kids’ club

Rooms & suites

300 rooms

Roughly 300 fairly large but dated rooms; upgrades offer balconies or whirlpool tubs; standard features include TVs, coffeemakers, basic toiletries; decor is plain

What’s included

Strong

The clearest reason to book: solid all-inclusive experience at a price well below neighboring Hotel Zone resorts. You're paying for a dated but functional property, not luxury, and most guests feel they got their money's worth.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Stretch

Couples can carve out a decent trip by parking themselves at the adults-only GR Caribe side, recently renovated and much calmer. On the main Royal side, expect a family-heavy, kid-noisy environment that won't feel romantic.

Families

Ideal

This is the resort's strongest suit: an indoor-outdoor Kids Club run by a genuinely beloved team (Mariana, Emi, Ivette), a mini water park with slides, and pool entertainers who keep kids busy all day. Repeat family visitors come back year after year.

Peace & Quiet

Mixed

Two-sided property design saves the day: the family Royal side runs loud with foam parties and pool games, while the adults-only GR Caribe side stays peaceful. Pick your side carefully because sound carries through room walls.

Resort includes spa with a la carte treatments, fitness center, beauty salon, kids’ water park, nightly shows, water sports via nearby marina, meeting rooms

What past guests say

“Excellent experience! A family-friendly hotel that can also be enjoyed as a couple! We loved the foam party at the pool. The daytime activities and shows are also very good. We met Matías, the entertainer! He was very cheerful and fun.”

“Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful; it's a comfortable, small hotel. The children's area is nice and they offer many activities. However, making restaurant reservations through their app is a nightmare. No matter how many nights you're staying, there's never any availability, which is a major area for improvement. They tell you to join a waiting list at the restaurant, but when you arrive, the waiting list doesn't exist. The restaurant staff aren't friendly, and there's no food...”

“I stayed at Royal Solaris Cancún for a few days and, unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing overall. The hotel itself is nice and the location is great, but I felt that the food was not particularly good. I tried several of the restaurants and none of them really stood out. I also started feeling a bit sick to my stomach during my stay, although I obviously cannot say for sure if it was caused by the food. The most uncomfortable part of my experience was a sales presentation...”

Know before you book

  • Food quality and variety inconsistent
  • Rooms dated and basic
  • Beach/pool chair reservation chaos
  • Quality feels average by Cancun standards

What you should know

What to Know

This is a timeshare property, and the sales pitch is aggressive: decline the 'free breakfast' and gifts unless you want a four-hour hard sell. Restaurant reservations are limited (three per week, via a clunky app) and some areas are reserved for members.
