Food & drink

Specialty restaurants outshine an average-to-weak buffet, with the Mexican and Bluewater Grill drawing the most praise. Expect service hiccups and a rough experience at Chopsticks/Teppanyaki, where reservations are nearly impossible to score.

Beach

Mixed

Sand is soft and clean, but heavy sargassum and murky water plagued the ocean through spring and early summer, keeping many guests out of the water entirely. Beds on the beach carry an extra fee.

Pools

Mixed

Multiple pools give you options, including quieter ones away from the main action, but cleanliness at the busy swim-up pool is a recurring complaint. Sharky's pool bar (ask for Nicholas) is a bright spot.

What’s included

Mixed

Priced as a mid-market family all-inclusive and best judged on those terms: fine for the money, disappointing if you expect polish. Sun Club upgrade delivers uneven perks for the extra spend.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Stretch

Workable for a laid-back couples trip but not romance-forward: no adults-only pool, loud poolside entertainment, and anniversary requests that go unfulfilled. Better suited to friend groups than honeymooners.

Families

Good fit

This is where the resort shines: big family suites, kid-friendly pools, and a warm staff that turns reunions and multi-gen trips into highlights. Layout is sprawling, so request buildings close to the action.

Peace & Quiet

Weak

A lively, animation-heavy resort where pool entertainment starts by 4pm and music carries to the beach and pool-view rooms. Quieter secondary pools exist, but true peace is hard to find.

Unlimited‑Fun all‑inclusive with 20+ dining and bar venues shared with adjoining property, supervised kids and teens clubs, PADI dive centre, theatre, nightclub, daily entertainment programs, spa, fitness centre, beach and pool bars.

What past guests say

“Overall experience - I'd give this resort 2 stars. It was nice to not be home and relax by the pool side or on the beach and read a book, however, many things to do with the resort itself was horrible. 1. The service is TERRIBLE. Especially in the main buffets. Rarely anyone comes to your table and asks if you want drinks - water or coffee for the mornings with ur breakfast - if you do happen to call over a server they say yes they will get you your drink, but they will come with your beverage a”

“The staff are great and super attentive. The bed was so uncomfortable. It hurt my back. I ended up sleeping on the chaise lounge day bed. It was bearable but not my idea of a good night. It had a single mattress on it and you could feel the frame when you lay on your side. Typically all of the mattresses in a resort will all be the same so there was no point in mentioning it to anyone. The food was really good. There are 16 restaurants and bars. There’s no reservations needed for any à la carte ”

“We had a great week at Suncape Coco and it flew by. Lots of entertainment and food options. There are apparently 9 restaurants but we barely made a dent in them. Elvin who organizes the bali beds at the beach and bartends is just amazing. He never stops moving and has so much patience with all the requests coming his way. Jorge and Juan in Sun Club concierge were great. Jorge checked on us daily if we needed anything and since I have been back still checks in. His warmth is unmatched. Joander at”

“You have to go to really see how good is this resort. Quite big (over 1000 rooms) so for those seeking a quiet place, might not be the best option. But although busy never seems overcrowded. The private beach is amazing, very soft sand and calm and warm waters. The rooms are big, mine had a massive LCD TV, and I was lucky thst my room window was straight into the pool. All the pools in the resort are good, the busiest one being the central one where all the animation happens. I would have two re”

“We just had an amazing week at this beautiful resort! We upgraded to the sun scape pool walkout room. Worth the money for the ease of use of the pool and the special treatment that we received from the staff. Jorge was our concierge and he went over and beyond in taking care of us! He was so kind and always smiling and checking to see if we needed anything and if our room was ok. We also had an Amazing bartender by the pool. She was always happy, Dancing, and excited to see us! Yurte is the best”
