Why travelers love it

MixedFood is decent by Cuban standards but limited: buffet variety has shrunk with only one main restaurant fully operating, and à la carte bookings are the highlight when you can get them.
high confidence

- À la carte considered high quality
- Buffet omelets and waffles at breakfast
- New nightly menu keeps things fresh
Heads up
- Very limited variety, especially at night
- Shortages tied to Cuba's supply situation
- No vegetarian options flagged by some

Beach
StandoutThe beach is the headline: kilometers of soft white sand, turquoise water, and a beach bar with charcoal snacks that regulars call the best in Cuba.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Miles of soft white sand
- Turquoise, swimmable water
- Beach bar and grilled snacks on-site
- Walk to nature reserve for birds and wildlife
Heads up
- Noseeums and bug bites reported in cooler months
Long stretch of powder‑white sand, crystal‑clear water, pristine and scenic; nature refuge setting
Pools
StrongOne main pool is operational since the resort scaled back, but it is clean, uncrowded, and paired with a 24-hour snack bar and attentive bartenders.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- 24-hour pool snack bar
- Attentive pool bar staff
- Plenty of shaded loungers
- Rarely crowded
Heads up
- Only one pool now open
- Music can be loud poolside
Two distinct pool areas with built‑in lounge chairs, Balinese beds, and swim‑up (submerged) bars

What’s included
MixedPriced as a 4.5-star, delivers roughly a 3-star product outside of the beach and staff. Fine if you booked cheap and understand Cuba's current constraints; frustrating if you expected luxury.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Cheap deals make the beach a bargain
- Staff genuinely go above and beyond
- Well-kept grounds despite the scaled-back operation
Heads up
- Marketed as 4.5-star, feels more like 2.5 to 3
- Half the property closed and not disclosed at booking
- Rooms, bathrooms, and gym equipment tired or broken
Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.
Amenities & activities
Couples
StretchAdults-only setting with a gorgeous beach makes for a romantic backdrop, but tired rooms and a half-shuttered resort have burned some honeymooners.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Adults-only, no kids
- Stunning oceanfront views
- Vow renewals and honeymoons celebrated by staff
- Quiet, uncrowded feel
Heads up
- Rooms show mold, worn beds, and dated bathrooms
- Half the resort abandoned dampens the romance

Families
Not a fitAdults-only property, so children are not the audience here.
high confidence
Heads up
- No one under 18 permitted
- No kids club, kids menus, or family programming
Peace & Quiet
StrongWith half the resort closed and occupancy low, it feels serene and uncrowded, though the entertainment team pipes music through the day if you sit near the action.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Low occupancy means space to yourself
- Peaceful gardens and shaded palapas
- Far end of the peninsula, away from crowds
- Functional A/C and quiet rooms at night

“I did my research before I got here. I was expecting it to be good. My expectations were shattered because truly this is the most amazing place I have ever been. I pray that I will be able to return again because it is very special here. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. It feels like they are my family now. muchos gracias!”

“The worst travel experience ever! Paying for a 5-star hotel that should only be 3 stars at most... cleanliness 25%, food 25%, beach 80%. We got sick from the chicken. On December 31st, Cubans are allowed to come, but they're disrespectful. No toilet paper. Neither in the toilet nor for washing hands. The filth... wiping on the walls was considered normal... Half the hotel was closed, including their pool, and everything was falling apart. Anyway, I'll stop there.”

“I hate to do a bad review but feel that others doing research should be aware. We have been to Cuba MANY times over the years (we practically go yearly) so we are well versed in things like shortages/toilet paper/food etc! To give credit, the staff at the lobby bar and buffet are amazing. The beach is beautiful and grounds outside are beautiful but the buildings, rooms and ALL bathrooms are disgusting! Including the lobby bathrooms and all over the resort! The beds are unbelievably worn out...”

“Save your money people - DO NOT stay at this resort! Full transparency the pictures are from when it was newly built…and now the place is practically falling apart. Half the resort is literally shut down. There is only 1 buffet, 1 restaurant, and they do the entertainment at the lobby bar. Would rate the cleanliness of this resort a 0. All the public washrooms were disgusting and there was no toilet paper. The 24 hour snack bar barely had any food options.<br>The block we stayed in (33) had...”
